Moving.com provides many resources to help you prepare for your upcoming move.  Their site has everything from moving & packing cost calculators to a moving planner checklist.  They also provide a list of local movers and truck rental companies to get you on your way.

HUD.GOV has a wealth of information, ranging from foreclosure avoidance to governmental loan programs, and even describes the facts and pitfalls of home improvements.  

This is a government resource which provides mortgage assistance if you're behind on your payments. Their programs include modification (HAMP), refinance (HARP), foreclosure alternatives (HAFA), an unemployment program (UP), short refinancing, and a Hardest Hit Funds Program (HHF).

Federal law allows you to get a free copy of your credit report every 12 months from each credit reporting agency.  You can get them here.  Your credit reports may affect your mortgage rates, credit card approvals, apartment requests, or even your job application. Ensure all of the info on your reports are correct.
